3 Miles, 200+ steps up the side of the cliff and a whole day of fun. Today myself and Jude explored Brean Down Fort, and we both had the best time together.
Now this is a long walk and it’s not the easiest climb, the fort is over 300ft high and extends 1.5 miles out so we had a few little pit stops for Jude to sit down and rest his legs! It took us about 30 minutes to make it to the fort at the end, but the views along the way are beautiful.
Jude loved learning the history of this place and hearing about what each room was used for, he also checked all the chimneys to see if Santa would be able to come down or not haha!
We took a picnic with us which we ate in one of the gun emplacements. I told Jude this was where the cannon used to be which he thought was really cool! If you don’t bring any food there is a little cafe by the car park, which we bought a well deserved ice cream from and enjoyed on the beach.
This was a lovely day out & its free to get up here, you just have to pay £4.50 to park your car all day. I can’t wait to come back again and bring Jasper along next time too.
